streets. Then, we found the Bureau d’Information for a city map (because we learned our lesson in Beaune last week). There was a well-defined walking tour on the map that worked well. After awhile, we realized that we were following the little chickens in the sidewalk/road – backwards – so it was easier to keep track of where we were supposed to be going, thus easier to take pictures without having to look at the map. (I have no idea what the chickens represent.)

<a pig. We enjoyed a glass of wine on the sidewalk, and watched the locals go about their business.

Villars Fontaine, a lovely place recommended in the list of eateries by our cottage owners. This village is only about 10 minutes away and, as usual, the drive to get there was “interesting”. The last minute looked like we were driving up someone’s driveway – there was no way 2 cars could have passed without both cars putting their passenger tires into the grass! The restaurant was old and quaint, and we had a fabulous meal. Steve had almost a repeat of what he ate Monday night – Ham Persille, Boeuf Bourgignon, a cheese plate, and Creme Brûlée. I had the house Terrine, Steak Tartare, and Lemon Sorbet. This has been the only meal in France where they’ve served large portions. I couldn’t finish all of mine and they don’t do doggie bags (I hate wasting food!). By all rights, we shouldn’t be hungry for another 2
