Will this wind ever stop??? We had to close most of the windows last night as there was a whole lot of rattling going on. I seriously needed weights in my shoes to go out today. Fortunately, I did not get blown away, or into the sea 🙂
Today, we headed over to Paimpol, about 40km away, to the market. This time we were early enough for food but didn’t buy any ‘cause we didn’t need anything. We really do need to sort out our schedules. I did buy a table cloth, though, to use on future picnics here (or at home).
It was a bit drizzly so I left my camera in my bag. No pictures of this market 🙁 but it was all set up in this square and up some side streets.
We wandered about the old town…
…until we got hungry and stopped for an al fresco lunch at Les Alizes Creperie & Grill. Steve ate saucisse et frites and I ate a Noix St Jacques (coquille St. Jacques) crepe with a flambee whiskey sauce (their house specialty). We both washed that excellent meal down with cider.
Like yesterday, we took a circuitous route home but it didn’t take anywhere near 4 hours. There are different beaches in this area with rocks that look more like by-product of lava. There were so many oyster shells – large ones, too – and it was fascinating how many had “melted” into rocks to become one with the rock. There was no way they were coming apart – I tried!
We ate dinner in tonight – pork tenderloin with honey/mustard/cider vinegar sauce, garlic potatoes, carrots, wine. Cooking is so much more enjoyable when you are rested and relaxed.
Janice and Peter are arriving on Thursday and, tonight, I started planning our little side trip that we’re going to take with them next week. Can’t wait!
